The Hobbywing QuicRun WP 10BL120 G2 is a high-performance, water-resistant brushless speed controller designed for demanding RC applications. With 120 A continuous current, compatibility with 2–4S LiPo batteries and a powerful integrated BEC, it offers ample power reserves for high-performance brushless motors.

A special feature of the second generation is Hobbywing’s Intelligent Freewheeling Technology. This improves the efficiency of the drive system whilst simultaneously reducing the ESC’s operating temperature. This enhances efficiency and operational reliability, particularly under heavy load.

Water-resistant housing to IP67

The QuicRun WP 10BL120 G2 offers a high level of protection against dust and water and is rated to IP67. This makes it particularly suitable for models used in demanding conditions.

This feature also makes the controller an attractive option for certain applications in model boat building. Splash water and the inevitably high levels of humidity inside a model boat place significantly lower demands on the installation than an unprotected controller would face. Nevertheless, this controller should also be fitted as dryly and as well-ventilated as possible within the model boat. The IP67 design is not intended for permanent submersion.

Powerful 5 A BEC

The integrated switch-mode BEC delivers a continuous current of 5 A and can provide up to 10 A for short periods. The output voltage can be switched between 6.0 V and 7.4 V.

This means that even high-power servos and other RC components can be powered directly via the speed controller.

Efficient cooling

To ensure reliable heat dissipation, Hobbywing combines an integrated heat sink with an internal copper heat pipe and an active fan. This rapidly dissipates the heat generated by the power components.

The fan is powered directly via the BEC and operates within a voltage range of 5 to 7.4 V.

Integrated high-capacity capacitor

A particularly large 1640 µF capacitor is already integrated into the speed controller. As a result, no additional external capacitor is usually required for the intended 1:10 applications.

In addition, the ESC features temperature protection for the capacitors. This protects the electronics from excessive thermal stress and enhances operational reliability.

Flexible programming

The QuicRun WP 10BL120 G2 can be configured using the SET button directly on the ESC or via various Hobbywing programming devices.

This allows the ESC parameters to be conveniently adapted to the motor, vehicle or model, and the intended application.

The ESC is fundamentally designed for sensorless brushless drives. Sensored brushless motors can also be used, but with this ESC they are controlled exclusively in sensorless mode.
