SkyRC D100neo – 200 W AC/DC dual charger, 2 × 10 A and USB-C PD
The SkyRC D100neo is a powerful and versatile AC/DC dual charger suitable for a wide variety of battery types. Two independently operating charging outputs allow two batteries to be charged simultaneously – even if they have different numbers of cells or battery chemistries. Thanks to the integrated mains connection, the D100neo can be powered directly from a socket, whilst the additional DC input enables a significantly higher total power output when on the move or in the workshop.
In addition to its primary function as a charger and discharger, the D100neo offers numerous additional features. These include a high-performance balancer, a digital DC power supply function, a battery checker and a USB-C port with up to 20 W Power Delivery. This makes the device far more than a traditional battery charger and makes it suitable for both hobbyists and well-equipped workshops.
Two independent charging outputs
The D100neo features two charging outputs that operate completely independently of one another. This allows, for example, a LiPo battery and a NiMH battery to be charged simultaneously. The charging programme, current and other parameters are set separately for each output.
Each output can provide a charging current of up to 10 A and a charging power of up to 100 W.
When operated via the integrated AC mains connection, a total of up to 100 W charging power is available. If both outputs are used simultaneously, the charger intelligently distributes the available power between the two channels.
When powered via the 10–30 V DC input, the possible total power increases to up to 200 W, with up to 100 W available to each output.
The intelligent power distribution automatically adjusts the available power. For example, if a charging process on one channel is completed, more power can be made available to the output that is still active.
Suitable for numerous battery types
The SkyRC D100neo supports the most important battery types used in model making, hobby and technical applications:
LiPo
LiHV
LiFe
LiIon
NiMH
NiCd
Lead-acid batteries / Pb
Lithium batteries can be charged with 1 to 6 cells. For NiMH and NiCd batteries, packs with 1 to 15 cells are supported. For lead-acid batteries, appropriate programmes are available for different voltages and applications.
Depending on the battery type, various charging, discharging and maintenance programmes are available.
High-performance balancer with up to 1 A balancing current
When charging multi-cell lithium batteries, the integrated balancer monitors and equalises the voltages of the individual cells.
With a balancing current of up to 1,000 mA, the D100neo can equalise voltage differences between individual cells significantly faster than chargers with weaker balancers. The balancer electronics operate with a high degree of accuracy of up to ±0.02 V.
The total voltage and the voltages of the individual cells can be monitored via the balance connection. The D100neo can therefore also be used as a handy battery and cell voltage tester for LiPo, LiHV, LiFe and LiIon batteries.
Charging programmes for lithium batteries
Several programmes are available for LiPo, LiFe, LiIon and LiHV batteries:
Balance Charge
Charges the battery whilst simultaneously balancing the voltages of the individual cells.
Charge
Standard charging programme.
Storage
Brings lithium batteries to a suitable storage voltage.
Discharge
Controlled discharge of the battery.
This allows lithium batteries not only to be charged, but also to be conveniently maintained and prepared for storage.
Extensive functions for NiMH and NiCd batteries
Traditional nickel batteries are also fully supported. In addition to standard charging and discharging, the D100neo offers additional programmes:
Normal Charge
Discharge
Re-Peak
Charge/Discharge Cycle
Discharge/Charge Cycle
The cycle programmes allow batteries to be automatically charged and discharged multiple times. This can be used, for example, for capacity checks or to maintain older NiMH and NiCd battery packs.
Programmes for lead-acid batteries
Special charging programmes are also available for Pb/lead-acid batteries. In addition to standard charging and discharging, the D100neo supports programmes for AGM batteries and charging at low temperatures, amongst other things.
This makes the device suitable for smaller lead-acid batteries, such as those used in hobby, leisure or technical applications.
Up to 25 W discharge power
As well as charging, the D100neo is also capable of controlled battery discharge.
Via the main output, the discharge power is up to 5 W. When the balance connection is fitted accordingly, the charger can achieve a discharge power of up to 25 W with a 6S LiPo, for example.
The maximum discharge current is up to 2 A.
The discharge function is useful, amongst other things, for bringing batteries up to a desired voltage or preparing lithium batteries for storage voltage after use.
Integrated digital DC power supply
A special feature of the SkyRC D100neo is the integrated digital power supply function.
The two charging outputs can be used as a regulated DC power source. Voltage and current can be precisely adjusted:
Voltage from 2.0 to 27.0 V
Current from 0.2 to 10.0 A
Power up to 100 W
The output voltage can be adjusted in increments of 0.1 V and the current in increments of 0.1 A.
The D100neo operates automatically in CV or CC mode:
CV – Constant Voltage
The set output voltage is maintained at a constant level.
CC – Constant Current
The set maximum output current is maintained at a constant level.
This means the unit can be used, for example, to test and power electronic components, motors, lighting, control systems or other DC loads. For many tasks in the workshop, this eliminates the need for an additional laboratory power supply.
USB-C Power Delivery up to 20 W
In addition, the D100neo features a modern USB-C port with Power Delivery and QC 3.0.
Compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets or other USB-C devices can be charged via this port.
Maximum power:
USB-C PD up to 20 W
QC 3.0 up to 18 W
Depending on the standard, various output voltages of 5 V, 9 V and 12 V are supported.
The USB-C port is also used to connect the charger to a computer.
Connection to PC and Mac
The D100neo can be connected to a Windows PC or Mac via the SkyRC Charger Master software.
This provides additional options for configuring and monitoring the charger. Firmware updates can also be installed via the software.
Large 2.8-inch colour display
Compared to older chargers with simple monochrome displays, the D100neo features a modern 2.8-inch colour display.
The resolution is 240 × 320 pixels. The ColorX user interface clearly displays charging parameters, battery data and menu functions.
Operation is via a precise aluminium rotary wheel with push function, as well as additional controls for selecting the two charging outputs. This allows the current, battery type and charging programme to be set quickly.
Intelligent cooling
Despite its high performance, the D100neo has a very compact housing. A temperature-controlled fan reliably dissipates the heat generated.
The fan speed is adjusted according to power consumption and temperature. As a result, the cooling system operates only as intensively as is necessary for the current operating condition.
Comprehensive protection functions
Safety plays a particularly important role when charging high-capacity batteries. SkyRC has therefore equipped the D100neo with various electronic monitoring and protection functions.
Short-circuit protection
Over-temperature protection
Overvoltage protection
Capacity limitation
Charging time limit
Shut-down functions in the event of fault conditions
The casing is also made from flame-retardant PC-ABS V0.
Regardless of the integrated protection functions, the battery manufacturer’s specifications and the relevant safety regulations must always be observed when charging batteries.
Compact and versatile
With dimensions of just around 116 × 110 × 79 mm and a weight of approximately 470 g, the D100neo offers high power density whilst maintaining a compact design.
Thanks to the combination of an integrated 100–240 V mains power supply and a 10–30 V DC input, it is suitable for both stationary use and mobile use with a suitable external DC power source.
The SkyRC D100neo combines several functions in a single device:
Dual battery charger
Balancer
Battery tester
Discharger
Digital DC power supply
USB-C PD charger
This combination makes the D100neo a versatile solution for users who utilise different battery types and value high charging power as well as flexible settings.
